Summer's here (no really)

I'm declaring it summer and the calendar says so too. I played my annual "Summer of the Drugs" -- a Victoria Williams song performed by Soul Asylum. I did not do any drugs, just a showgram. Featured 80s at 8:30 artist was the Pretenders' early years. I remember in the summer of 1980 hearing someone playing the first Pretenders album from an upstairs apartment along Brady Street. I thought to myself -- that's cool -- someone is playing a hip "underground" band loud in Milwaukee! Of course we were playing them on WSOE and later on WMSE 91.7.
